His Excellency Cheng Siwei
Former Vice-Chairman of the 9th and 10th National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, Chairman of the China Democratic National Construction Association
Mr. Cheng Siwei is the former Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China. He is currently Dean of the School of Management of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Chinese Steering Committee for the Davos World Economic Forums 2006, 2007, and 2008, President of the Association of the Chinese Soft Science Research, Chairman of the editorial board of Management Review, the Honorary Chairman of China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (CNCPEC), and chief editor of a number of academic journals. Mr. Cheng is also an Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to his current positions, Mr. Cheng was an academic advisor to the World Bank and the director of the Department of Management Sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published 28 academic books in China and Europe, and over 120 articles in various academic journals.
Throughout his career, Mr. Cheng has worked for various units of the Ministry of Chemical Industry and the Ministry of Petroleum and Chemical Industries, including Chief Engineer of the Science and Technology Bureau, Vice-President and Chief Engineer of the Scientific and Technical Research Institute, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Chemical Industry, and Vice-Minister of Chemical Industry. Mr. Cheng was a member of the Seventh and Eighth National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and member of the Standing Committee of the Eighth CPPCC National Committee.

The Honourable Barbara J. McDougall
Chairman of the Board, International Development Research Centre, Advisor at Aird and Berlis
Mrs. Barbara McDougall is currently an advisor at Aird & Berlis, as well as Chairman of the International Development Research Centre. She also chairs the Global Panel North America, and is a member of Global Panel Foundation's advisory board based in Prague. She is a director of the Institute for Research on Public Policy in Montreal and the Inter-American Dialogue in Washington; a member of the Osprey Writers' Group; and contributes a regular column on foreign affairs to the Osprey Newspaper chain. Her additional duties include: honourary director of the Bank of Nova Scotia; an honourary governor of York University; a director of The Independent Order of Foresters, Imperial Tobacco and Unique Solutions Design Ltd; a director of the Canadian Opera House Corporation; and the founding Chairman of the Patron's Council of the Toronto Association for Community Living. Mrs. McDougall is an Officer of the Order of Canada.
She is widely recognized for her expertise in International Relations and is a frequent commentator both in print and on radio and television. In the past, she has sat on the board of International Crisis Group in Brussels and served on the international advisory board of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. She was also a Member of Parliament for nine years and held several cabinet posts, including: Finance (Minister of State), Privatization, Employment and Immigration, and finally External Affairs. She has chaired the Canadian Retailers Advancing Responsible Trade; was formerly chairman of AT&T Canada Long Distance Services; and served on the boards of National Trust, Systemhouse Inc., Avenor Inc., Sun Media, Corel Corporation and Stelco Inc. prior to their takeovers or mergers. In addition, she served a term as a public governor of The Toronto Stock Exchange.

Mr. Yuen Pau Woo
President and CEO of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada
Mr. Yuen Pau Woo is President and CEO of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. He is Canada's representative on the Standing Committee of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC), Director of the APEC Study Centre in Canada, and Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Asian Research at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Mr. Woo chairs the PECC Pacific Economic Outlook forecasting panel and is coordinator of the annual State of the Region report. He is also on the editorial board of Pacific Affairs.
Mr. Woo is on the management boards of National Centres of Excellence in Immigration (UBC and Simon Fraser University) and Emerging Markets (University of Ottawa), and is an advisor to the Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Centre and the Asian Development Bank. He is also on the International Advisory Council of the Asia Society in New York, and a member of the Greater Vancouver Advisory Board for the Salvation Army. Mr. Woo was born in Malaysia and grew up in Singapore. He was educated at Lester B. Pearson College, Wheaton College, the University of Cambridge, and the University of London. Mr. Woo has previously worked as a consultant on international marine affairs and as an economist for the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.
